Bromyard are still seeking their first outright victory in Division 1 of the Worcestershire County League after being held to a winning draw at lowly Astwood Bank.

An impressive all-round display from Chris Hyndes was the highlight as Bromyard fared the better of the teams in their fourth draw of the campaign.

Hyndes collected a classy 61 in Bromyard's 191-8 and he was backed up by Matthew Bullock (24) and Ashley Bullock (17), while J Summers (5-52) was the pick of the home club's bowlers.

Australian Hyndes then tormented Astwood Bank with the ball, snapping up 4-24, and, with James Hine taking 3-26, the duo helped restrict the home team to 141-8.

Luctonians secured their second win of the season after beating home club Romsley & Hunnington by 36 runs.

Greg Powell (48), skipper Duncan Platford (46 not out) and all-rounder Michael Jeh (32) all shone as Luctonians posted a competitive 188-4.

In reply, Romsley & Hunnington lost wickets regularly against spinner Jamie Layton (4-67) and Jeh (2-40) and they were never in the hunt.

Thirty-nine from tailender Danny Morgan and 26 from number seven N Pesteridge took Romsley towards a respectable total before the home side were eventually dismissed in the 47th over for 152.

Luctonians' hopes of chalking up a second consecutive victory were dashed by the weather on Monday with home club Astwood Bank tottering at 59-2.

Brockhampton remain rooted to the bottom of Division 2 after suffering an agonising one-wicket home defeat in a tense match with high-riding Feckenham.

The villagers looked set for an impressive total when Ashley Nahorniak (63) and Andrew Watkins (47) lifted Brockhampton to 130-3. But after the pair's dismissals the innings subsided to a disappointing 161.

And Brockhampton paid the price for not batting out their full entitlement because Feckenham edged home in the 55th of the 57 overs available to them.

Roy Wargen (4-48) and John Walker (3-24) were Brockhampton's most successful bowlers in another narrow loss.

Eastnor slipped to two defeats, going down by four wickets to visiting Stourport and then by six wickets at Feckenham.

Danny Baker was in dominant form in Eastnor's defeat against Stourport, striking 75 in his side's 153.

Although all-rounder Shahid claimed 3-32 and Steve Large, 2-20, Stourport comfortably swept to their target.

Shahid then hit 49 in Eastnor's 149-7 in a rain-hit match at Feckenham, but the home side replied in a solid manner and achieved victory with four overs remaining.

Hereford City climbed to second spot in Division 3 after a resounding seven-wicket triumph at Barnards Green.

Chasing the home team's 165, Hereford were led to their third league victory by Dave Mokler, who collected an unbeaten 70.

l Brockhampton romped to an eight-wicket win over visiting Luctonians in the third round of the National Village Cham-pionship.

Spinner Ian Macklin (4-16) and Wargen (2-16) made life difficult for the Luctonians batsmen who posted a modest 120-9 from their allotted 40 overs.

Graham Parker (53) and Adam Hewlett (48) gave Brockhampton a flying start and the home side secured victory after only 18 overs.
