FIRE fighters helped free a meathook from a man's nose after a freak accident.
Staff at the A&E department of Hereford Hospital called them in, the victim turned up there for treatment last Friday afternoon.
He is said to have been using the hook to hang a paint pot. It went up and through his nose when he slipped on a ladder.
The crew used a piece of cutting equipment normally employed at road accidents to make the hook more 'manageable' for medics who then removed the rest.
