TWO Ledbury women took part in the Jubilee parade along The Mall in London on Tuesday.
Brenda Hill, of Albert Road, carried the Ledbury Branch Standard of the Women's Section of the Royal British Legion, while Viv Watkins carried the Herefordshire County Standard for the Women's Section.
Both had to wait five hours before being given the order to march past the Queen and so missed many of the day's celebrations.
Mrs Hill, a legion member for 29 years, said: "It was lovely and something I shall never forget. All those people were cheering us and, although it was a long walk, it was worth it. I think the Queen really took to it all. When I got back I was so tired."
