WITH interest growing in miscanthus or elephant grass, ADAS at Rosemaund, Preston Wynne, is staging an arable open day today (Thursday) to tell farmers about research into the crop.
Elephant grass is a comparatively new to many farmers, although ADAS has been growing it for ten years for research purposes. Yield is clearly a vital component in assessing the potential of the crop, and information on expected yields and required agronomy will be available at the open day being staged from 2pm to 8pm.
Admission is free, with a bar and barbecue. Contact Jonathan Blake, 01432 820444, for details.
