PLANS to create a sensory play area for Trinity Primary School is set become reality with a helping hand from an educational awards scheme.
The neglected courtyard area will be transformed into an oasis of smells textures, colour and sounds after Yorkshire Bank's Educational Awards Scheme offered to boost the funding.
Focusing particularly on youngsters with physical disabilities the garden will have full wheelchair access and raised planters to allow children to touch and smell plants easily.
The project includes a water feature, herb garden, weather station, sandpit, musical sculpture and a rabbit hutch.
Head teacher, Doug Lowe said: "It will make a significant difference to the school environment, providing an area which is accessible to all our children.
"There really will be something for everyone in this garden and we are looking forward to making full use of the space."
The school is one of more than 160 across the UK to benefit from Yorkshire Bank's Educational Awards Scheme that was launched last September.
