WESTFIELDS have completed their first signing of the summer with the capture of former Kington Town player Roy Jordan.

Jordan, 24, scored 16 goals for county rivals Kington Town last season and was previously with Hereford United.

Jordan can play on the left side of midfield or in attack and Westfields' chief executive Andy Morris believes he will be a great addition to the squad of the West Midlands League Premier Division Cup winners.

Westfields joint manager Sean Edwards is chasing a centre-half because Matt Morris has signed a four-year soccer scholarship with Virginia University and will be leaving the Hereford outfit in August.

Meanwhile, Westfields have arranged pre-season friendlies away to Ross Town, Newent Town, Llanwern Town and Pegasus for the Denis Hartland Memorial Trophy. They are also hoping to organise a friendly with last season's West Midlands League Premier Division champions Causeway United.

Westfields' players report back for pre-season training on July 11. Their league campaign starts on August 17.

l Ross Sports Centre is hosting a trial match for Cinderford Town Under-18 tonight, kick-off 7.30pm. Players wanting to take part should be aged between 15 and under 18 on August 1, and report to the sports centre at 6.45pm.
