Judgment day will come in early July for Wellington Heath, which is one of nine Herefordshire candidates in Calor's Herefordshire Village of the Year competition.
Spokeswoman Jean Haigh, who runs the event on behalf of the Women's Institutes, said: "Our panel of judges will be visiting the villages in early July. We are anticipating another tight contest."
Wellington Heath's rivals include Burghill, Tillington, Cradley, Ewyas Harold, Longtown, Mansell Lacy, Wellington and Westhope.
The county winner will get £150 but other cash prizes are also up for grabs, including £100 for the best kept section.
The overall winner will have the honour of representing Herefordshire in the Calor Village of the Year contest for England and Wales, against more that 40 rivals.
The prestigious competition has been running for six years.
