A team of young white water rafters who travelled to Bala, in North Wales, to take part in a river race, have raised £1,150 for the Ledbury Ladies' Lifeboat Guild.
The team included Anna Stones and Tom Croshaw, both sixth formers at John Masefield High School, along with Richard Stones, Nikki Davies and Colleen and Andy Baker.
Pam Stones, secretary of the Ledbury Ladies' Lifeboat Guild, who cheered her children and the team on to a creditable ninth position out of 34 competitors, said: "It was just a brilliant weekend, and what a great way to raise money!
"Young people don't want old fashioned ways of raising money any more, they want to get some fun out of it."
A total of the 34 teams took part in the sponsored race on June 16, raising £23,000 for branches across the UK.
