AFTER their recent defeat in the Wellon Cup, Eastnor U15s kept up their league unbeaten run with a 31 run victory over Newent.
Dan Herbert (23), Hamish Grundy (13) and Tom Locke were the main run scorers in Eastnor's 20 over total of 97 with M Henry (2-2) and T Morley (2-6) the best of the Newent bowling.
In reply Tim Rutherford (2-6) together with Adam Varley, Pat Locke and Martin Loveridge (one wicket each) kept the home side at bay for a total of 66, despite brave performances from O Tweedie (20) and T Morley (12).
In the HCB U11's league Eastnor thrashed Bartestree & Lugwardine by 107 runs.
Eastnor's Josh Emery (27), James Febery (16), Sam Beale (15), S Crichard (15) and T Watkins (13) totalled a record for the U11s with 332 (200 run start) scored and lost just one wicket in their 16 over stay at the crease - the unfortunate batsman being Jamie Onions.
B&L had little answer to the bowling losing only four wickets to Josh Emery, Sam Beale (1-5) and T Davis (1-9) and an Onions run out, they could only total 225 (after their 200 run start).
The Eastnor Colts sides are playing well and some wonderful cricket can be seen on Sunday mornings or Monday evenings at Eastnor.
