Hereford is to host an important national conference in March.

More than 100 delegates from all over the country will be visiting the city for the 34th annual conference of the Institute of Agricultural Secretaries and Administrators (IagSA), the professional body for those engaged in rural business administration.

The theme of the conference is Back to the Future and the venue from March 28 to 30 is the Three Counties Hotel.

The speakers will include Liz Pursey, last year's chair of the Herefordshire branch of the National Farmers' Union, and Lady Hazel Byford, the institute's patron.

The Herefordshire branch of the association has a flourishing membership and farms and rural businesses within the county and the surrounding counties benefit from the services of some 20 members covering a variety of skills. A visit to The Leen at Pembridge to see an example of a traditional farm with a modern approach will give visitors a taste of the county, together with a showing of Shroves, the local film made in the aftermath of foot and mouth and set in the Golden Valley.

Businesses wanting their brochures included in the conference pack or wanting a trade stand should contact Lucy Levinge on 01981 550685.
