WEALTH and riches apparently bring a sparkle to the Dean of Hereford's eyes, but this has nothing to do with mammon.

The Very Reverend Michael Tavinor cites coin collecting as one of his hobbies in the latest edition of a world famous reference book.

The Dean, who will be celebrating his 50th birthday in September, is among 1,000 new entries in 'Who's Who'.

In his modest 10-line entry he names 'walking, music, gardening, coin collecting' as things he likes to do.

Old Etonian businessman Michael Brinton, the chairman of Hereford and Worcester CBI, also makes an appearance and reveals his interest in shooting, fishing and old cars.

They appear alongside the likes of Steve Cram, Emily Watson and Hugh Grant, who divulges his unusual middle name 'Mungo'.

The big red reference book contains potted biographies of 32,000 celebrities and reflects the changing face of contemporary society.

Civil servants, statesmen and scientists join TV chefs and gardeners, and inclusion is by invitation only.

All the featured personalities compile their own entries and they can include, or exclude, information as they choose. Their names will remain in 'Who's Who' for the rest of their life.
