VILLAGE HALL -- Many items were discussed at the meeting of the village hall management committee, chaired by Peter Boughey on January 9. The past year has been successful, with many lettings for parties, plus regular bookings for line dancing, Women's Institute meetings and other village activities. For some months requests have been made for the local council to supply dog fouling signs - it may be they thought that dogs couldn't read ! The committee is anxious to have these signs - so many local children use the hall grounds for playing and their health may be at risk. Vera Powell, the treasurer, informed the meeting that the hall was at the moment financially sound. A sub-committee is to be formed to decide terms for letting in the future, and while no increase in letting fees is envisaged, booking conditions regarding the state that the hall is left after a letting will be laid down.
