A HEREFORD GP hopes to be standing on top of the largest free standing mountain in the world in July.
Dr Don Langford, who practises at Credenhill, will climb the 19,000ft high Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of St Michael's Hospice.
He says the ascent will be tough but it hasn't diminished his determination to reach the top. He last proved his resolve in 1996 when he cycled across Israel, raising £3,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
Under the auspices of Hospice International, he aims to raise £5,000 for St Michael's and needs to raise a minimum of £2,700 before he starts.
"I have already paid £645 towards the cost of the trip with a contribution from Hospice International. This means that all the profit from this challenge will go to St Michael's," he said.
Anyone who would like to sponsor Dr Langford can contact the fundraising team at St Michael's on 01432 851000.
