A Hereford lecturer is swapping the classroom for the gym to prepare for the biggest challenge of all - the London marathon.
Having completed the Hereford half marathon and the Paris marathon, Frenchman Alex Marquis is confident he will be able to complete the gruelling 26-mile run.
The Herefordshire College of Technology French lecturer will be running to raise money for Scope, a charity which helps people with cerebral palsy.
Having worked with charities similar to Scope in France, he understands and admires the work they do and that is why he will be putting himself through the pain barrier.
"The satisfaction I get at the finish line is unbelievable and well worth the hard work and dedication. I really enjoy the whole experience and to raise money for such a worthwhile cause is an added bonus," he added.
Anyone wishing to sponsor Alex should call him on 01432 379289 or on 07719686661.
