Bishop's School 28 pts Monmouth School 19
BISHOP'S School gained revenge for last year's defeat by Monmouth to win the Luctonians Schools Anglo-Welsh Cup in a game controlled by the superb Hereford team pack.
They dominated the set- pieces and kept Mon-mouth on the back foot with a series of strong, controlled rolling mauls to deny the classy Monmouth backs any good ball.
Bishop's flanker Guy Thompson opened the scoring with an unconverted try but Monmouth hit back to take the lead with a converted try. Fly-half Rob Young restored Bishop's lead with a try, and they stretched their advantage with further tries from hooker Ross Griffiths and Thompson.
Young kicked a penalty and Griffiths added a second try to put Bishop's out of sight before Monmouth ran in two late tries, one of which was converted.
Previously Bishop's extended their winning run to eight matches with a fine 31-21 away win against Northampton School.
Winger Sean Thompson, flanker Guy Thompson, centres Brett Griffiths and Ben Jones, and prop Will Colgate scored tries, and fly-half Rob Young landed three conversions.
