HEREFORDSHIRE is unlikely to become home of Prince William. Rumours that a mansion was being built for him at Harewood End were discounted by the Duchy of Cornwall.
Agent David Curtis confirmed that outline planning permission for a 'main residence' was being sought, but said: "I can honestly say it is intended to rent'.
He was speaking at a meeting in the village on Tuesday to discuss the Duchy's plans for regenerating the Duchy's 900-acre Harewood End estate.
Mr Curtis said it was hoped to replace the former mansion, demolished in the 1950s, but on a more modest scale.
"We are building it to last for several hundred years. I do not know what will happen in the future and I cannot say what will take place in 50 or 100 years time,'' he said.
