HOLME Lacy Primary School has been congratulated by OFSTED inspectors in their latest report.
The inspectors declared it was a 'happy, caring and effective school where pupils make good progress'.
Since the school was last inspected in November 1997 considerable improvements have been made regarding 'the quality of teaching, the leadership and management of the headteacher, and the attitudes and behaviour of the pupils in general'.
Although the report was positive, areas for improvement were found regarding the management of special educational needs and the need to provide a school hall to teach gymnastics.
Elizabeth Stuffins, Chair of Governors, was delighted with the report and congratulated headteacher Alan Thomas and all his staff for the glowing praise.
She thanked former head Steve Pugh for putting in place the foundations after the previous report and revealed an action plan is in place to address the areas for improvement.
