Leominster Town 0 Bridgnorth Town Res 3

LEOMINSTER slipped to their 12th West Midlands League Division 1 South defeat of the season when their visitors adapted better to the heavy going.

The early play saw Leominster match their strong opponents on the sticky surface but they missed chances when Ben Price fired straight at the goalkeeper and Neil Bennett chipped wide when well placed.

Leominster suffered a set-back midway through the half when debutant goalkeeper Jonathan Speake and defender Adrian Evans misjudged a swirling cross for Bridgnorth's Lewis Walsh to head home.

Leominster's young side visibly tired after the interval and Bridgnorth started to dominate. They increased their lead in the 61st minute when John Fawcett was the quickest to react to a near-post corner.

Leominster failed to mount a serious challenge to the visiting goal and Bridgnorth completed a comfortable win when a striker was left unmarked in the box to hit the final goal.
