A HUSBAND and wife team has been united on Bromyard Town Council after a successful by-election contest for town crier Peter Dauncey.
Councillor Dauncey will join his wife, Bromyard's mayor, Joan Dauncey on the council after winning the seat held by Daphne Davies until her death at the end of last year.
He said: "I am very proud to be an adopted son of Bromyard and will do my best to represent all the people of our area.
"Amongst my main concerns are the ever-increasing senior population of the town and ensuring that the facilities are in place for them. And with his foot firmly on the political ladder, Councillor Dauncey, has his eye on bigger things.
He said: "I shall in May, along with Les Andrews, be standing as a Liberal Democrat for the (Herefordshire) Unitary Authority and then I hope to really help the electorate."
