MADAM, After reading two letters in the Hereford Times I had to write to you and say I lost my pony when I was 14 years old after a car drove too close and my pony shied.

The mirror of the car caught the girth taking the pony under the car and me over the top.

My pony had his leg broken clean off and had to be destroyed. I never forget this when I'm out riding and 28 years later I always put my hand up to say thank you to drivers.

Last year I moved to Kington and regularly ride the main road, lanes and through the town and I must say 75% of the drivers are very good and the Tarmac lorries always slow down when they pass me.

I end by saying thank you to all the careful drivers out there as it costs nothing to be polite and slow down, so nobody gets hurt.

MRS S MASON,

Kingswood, Kington.
