A PORTABLE toilet near a site where workmen are building new public conveniences is causing a stink.
It has been placed just off Bye Street, which is where a Herefordshire Council crew is currently at work.
At last week's meeting of the town council, the mayor Coun Noel Roberts said the toilet was locked although he had been told it was supposed to be open to the public.
Herefordshire Council spokesperson Harriet Binet told the Ledbury Reporter the new toilets should be completed by Easter.
She added that the portable conveniences were supposed to be open to the public, but had suffered problems with vandalism.
Work is now underway to install anti-vandal measures but it is not known when they will be ready to open again.
