Ledbury Town entertain West Midlands League Premier Division leaders Westfields at New Street tomorrow (Saturday) in the semi-final of the HFA County Challenge Cup.

Ledbury's league form has been inconsistent over recent weeks but they redeemed a 4-0 home defeat by second-placed Tipton Town by knocking neighbours Malvern Town out of the Premier Division Cup the following Wednesday.

Town did not have a league game last Saturday and their original midweek fixture away at Dudley Town has now been moved to March 18.

The cup match kicks off at 2.45pm.

LEDBURY TOWN RESERVES 2, HINTON 4

LEDBURY'S Reserves threw away the chance of three precious points with a late second half collapse that saw them concede four goals and surrender a two goal lead.

Following a 1-0 reverse earlier in the season, Ledbury started the match determined to exert some revenge on their promotion chasing rivals.

In a first half devoid of clear goal mouth action there was little to pick between the two sides, Ledbury enjoyed greater territory kicking down the slope, but Hinton were showing more class and confidence when they attacked. It was an error that led to the first home goal, Morris' long throw was flicked on by Jones and with no real danger a Hinton defender nodded past his own keeper.

Ledbury began the second half brightly and Morris and Dean combined well allowing Stockley to head in at the far post for 2-0.

Ledbury then conceded a goal in unfortunate circumstances. First Hollingshead saved brilliantly to deny Semple, as the ball rebounded Ledbury committed a foul right on the edge of the penalty area. The resultant free kick looked innocuous enough but Hollingshead misjudged the bounce of the ball off the heavy pitch and it ended up in the net.

With this Ledbury's fragile confidence drained away and Hinton visibly gained a yard of pace. They duly equalised five minutes later through Birch and with Ledbury's shape totally lost Semple added two more in the final ten minutes.

It could have been more but for some good saves by Hollingshead including a fine penalty save. Ledbury's misery was compounded in the final minute when Grubb saw red for a late challenge.

Ledbury must pick themselves up tomorrow (Saturday) in the semi-final of the Charity Bowl away against Ross United Services.
