TODDLERS at the Bishop's Frome Jack-in-the-Box nursery school have helped raise £130.50 for charity.
All 26 children at the nursery, aged between two and four, took part, with 18 raising sponsorship money for the I CAN! charity.
The task involved was to learn the song Five Little Fireman, and teams of five children at a time each got up to perform the recital before receiving certificates of completion.
Nursery proprietor Jackie Barratt said: "We've been doing 'People who Help us' all this term. The children learned about children less fortunate than themselves. The I CAN! charity helps children with communication difficulties and by doing this song and getting money they understood they were able to help other children."
Last year, to help the nursery expand from looking after 15 children at the Village Centre, they received a £3,800 grant from the Herefordshire Partnership to help buy new toys and equipment.
This year they will get £4,500 from the lottery's New Oppor-tunities Fund and £800 from the Partnership for a garden in three areas outside the centre.
