Ledbury U11s were well psyched up for this visit as they had a heavy defeat at the hands of the visitors earlier in the season.

LEDBURY U11s 24pts, PAINSWICK U11s 14pts

Painswick found themselves defending for most of the match and had it not been for their solid tackling the eventual score would not have flattered them so kindly.

Seeing the ball move the full width of the field on numerous occasions was a sight to behold for Ledbury's loyal supporters and with Tom West at his eel-like best a score resulted in the opening five minutes, touched down by Tom Pinnell, ably converted by himself.

However a rapid reply by the visitors soon levelled matters, the resulting try coming from a well controlled scrum for 7-7.

Painswick were to give away one of many penalties shortly after the re-start and as a result Tom Pinnell crashed over for his second to go 12-7. The homesters set up camp again in the opponents half with excellent five man scrums evenly shared, eventually Henry Amor showing his experience to score and convert before half time for a home advantage of 19-7.

From the turn around Ledbury were hungry for more and George Seed scavenged well from a maul to touchdown for a 24-7 margin.

A long kick from the restart saw hesitation from Ledbury and good follow up play let the visitors in for a consolation try converted for an eventual 24-14 finish.

A good performance all round with Alex Bain, Jamie Ford and Charlie Smith leading by example.

Next week training, Ross Road 10.30am.
