TWENTY people descended on Newent Library on February 6 for the first meeting in 2003 of the Newent Beekeepers group.
Guest speaker Dave Maslem, a professional bee inspector, gave a well-received talk on spring management, with the aid of slides.
The Beekeepers are planning to run a course of practical beekeeping in May, but their next meeting will be at the library on March 6 from 7.30pm, when Sheila Allen will give a talk on "Bees Abroad". Further details on 01531 650318.
