Hereford'S poor run continued when they went down 3-1 to visiting ECV Hornets in the Gerrard West of England and South Wales Men's League Premier Division 3.

The early play was closely contested but the Exeter visitors took a first-half lead when they converted a disputed short corner.

After the interval a well-worked short corner put them further ahead and, with Hereford pushing up, they put the result beyond doubt with a breakaway goal.

Daiyle Door forced home a late consolation goal for Hereford.

Leominster kept in touch with the leaders of North Division 2 with a useful 2-1 away win over Bristol 2nd.

Slick inter-passing down the right between Dave Harvey and Josh Watkins saw Harvey cross for Rob Goodman to fire home an early goal.

Although not at their best, Leominster created the better chances and extended the lead when Watkins netted with a fine individual goal.

Bristol hit back immediately to close the gap to a single goal, but Leomin-ster, despite being reduced to eight players through a series of questionable yellow cards, held out for victory.

Leominster 2nd entertained North-East Div-ision 2 high-flyers Chelt-enham 3rd and, after a close battle, shared a 2-2 draw.

The visitors took an early lead but Leominster came back strongly after the break to take the initiative with a brace from Ian Johnson.

This set up an interesting final quarter with Cheltenham applying lots of pressure and eventually snatching a late equaliser.

Hereford 2nd battled hard but slipped to a 2-1 away defeat against third-placed City of Bath 3rd in their North-East Division 2.

Hereford 3rd got the better of county rivals Ross with a narrow 2-1 victory in their North-East West District 2 encounter at Monmouth.

Ross took an early lead from a penalty corner but Steve Alderton found the bottom corner with a crisp shot to put Hereford back on terms at the break.

In a very open second period Hereford clinched victory when Miles Price collected a pass from Dan Bridges to fire home.

Hereford Veterans gave a good account of themselves in a friendly match against a combined Hereford 1st and 2nd Xl, but eventually conceded defeat to the youngsters when Dan Little converted a late penalty flick for a 1-0 victory.
