Kington Town 2 Tividale 1
DANNY Hill fired home a fine brace to lift Kington into a challenging fourth position in the West Midlands League Premier Division.
With several changes due to injuries and unavailability, Kington were still sorting themselves out when Tividale scored in the second minute when a striker rose unchallenged for a near-post header.
Kington gradually found their rhythm and started to put together some promising moves. The visitors eventually cracked just before the interval and conceded a penalty when Ben Chambers was bundled over and the outstanding Hill converted with a crisp strike.
After the break Kington produced some of their best football of the season but failed to convert several good chances.
Any attempt by Tividale to get back into the game was thwarted by a superb home defence, expertly marshalled by sweeper Danny Moon.
Carl Morgan made a couple of fine solo runs but fired wide after creating scoring opportunities and it was Hill who set up victory when he surged into the box and beat two defenders before clipping the ball past the advancing goalkeeper.
