Wellington 5
Pershore Town 6
WELLINGTON'S title aspirations in the Midlands Floodlit Youth League Southern Division were dealt a blow by Pershore in an 11-goal thriller.
They now share top place with Hereford United who have a game in hand.
Mike Craig, Danny Amies, from a Mark Hole cross, and Ross Macmillan each gave Wellington the lead with Town replying straight from the restart to cancel out the first two and leave the half-time score 3-2 in favour of the home team.
Pershore started the second half at a cracking pace to turn the deficit into a 6-3 lead. Substitute Lawrence Tasker, with a 20-yard effort, and Sam Lloyd put Wellington back in contention with five minutes to go.
Cory Hyde went close to salvaging a point but the visitors held on for an excellent win.
