Wellington 2 Ettingshall 1
WELLINGTON came from behind to give a strong second-half performance and earn their 13th West Midlands League Premier Division victory of the season.
The opening exchanges were even but the visitors took advantage of a defensive slip to take a 10th-minute lead when central defender Adam Chalkley could only glance the ball past his own goalkeeper as he tried to clear an inswinging corner.
Adie West and Keith Jones almost put Wellington back on terms with a couple of fine runs but both fired wide after creating scoring opportunities.
After the break Wellington introduced substitute Andrew Morgan and within minutes he made his presence felt when he seized on a mistake by a visiting defender to slam home an equaliser.
Recent signing Robert Simpson showed some nice touches in midfield as Wellington took the initiative.
The pacy Jones was always a threat and won a penalty when he was brought down from behind after being put through by Ross Macmill-an.
Leading goalscorer Liam Craig crisply dispatched the spot-kick to bag the win for Wellington.
