RESIDENTS of Leominster and the surrounding villages are being offered a final chance to give their views on shaping the town's future before a major bid for funds is made in a market towns booster scheme.

A 'phase two' public consultation event - 'a visioning meeting' - is being staged at the Lion Ballroom on February 27 at 7pm.

It follows phase one, a well-attended town meeting held last November and events in some villages. A market town action plan is now being prepared to build on the success of Leominster's completed Single Regeneration Budget programme.

West Midlands Enterprise Consultants, which is working with Herefordshire Council, say next week's meeting will give an update and summary of feedback so far from residents and community groups.

Chair of Leominster Regeneration Company, Mike Thornhill urged local people to attend. "Leominster has a good track record in involving the local community in deciding how best to tackle local issues but we need more people to come forward," he said.

Enterprise Consultants chairman Geoff Edge said: "Funding is available for a wide range of projects to improve Leominster."

The consultants are requesting that local people who are still in possession of consultation 'toolkit' questionnaires, but have yet to complete/return the documents, do so as soon as possible.
