THE county branch of the Herefordshire National Farmers' Union is involved in the Countryside race day at Hereford Racecourse on Friday, March 7.
The day is once again being arranged by the racecourse, the Countryside Alliance, the NFU and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, to represent a unification of organisations in the countryside. Simon Kershaw, commercial manager for Hereford Racecourse, said: "We are keen to make this an annual occasion for the country set, especially as it incorporates a fund-raising element."
The seven-race meeting includes a hunter chase and a charity race where local enthusiasts will be given a chance to race against Peter Scudamore. The organisers will donate £5 to charity if tickets are booked in advance.
There will be a display of the world-famous Monnington Morgan horses, a parade of hounds and a spring fair. There's a children's village available free and also free entry for 16-year-olds and under, accompanied by an adult. For tickets, ring 01432 273560.
