Ledbury Town bowed out at the semi-final stage of the HFA County Senior Cup against West Midlands table-topping Westfields.

LEDBURY TOWN 0, WESTFIELDS 1

The game failed to rise to expectations with conditions slippery and very heavy after a severe overnight frost and chances and good football were always at a minimum.

Pugh in the visitors' goal made a brilliant one handed save to deny Stu Hall whilst Westfields had a goal disallowed for a foul on the Ledbury keeper.

The second half saw Ledbury kick down the slope but Westfields seem to thrive on the task and Rory Hollingshead had to be at his best to thwart the eager Westfields' forwards,

Ledbury didn't really threaten, only a Robbie Colwell snap shot from 25 yards whistled passed the upright then a Phil Preedy run was dashed with a timely last ditch tackle. Pugh once again produced a reflex save from a deflected Stu Hall effort.

Westfields got the all important goal with 12 minutes remaining, a break on the left wing saw Jefferson's cross to the far post end up with Scot Jackson driving home from six yards.

On the balance of play this had to be a fair result.

Ledbury are at home again tomorrow (Saturday) to Bromyard, kick off 2.45pm.
