A Bromyard care assistant has hung up her uniform for the last time after 30 years helping people in their own homes.
Muriel Harris has carried out more than 50,000 visits to the frail and elderly to help with just about any household task.
These ranged from personal care, collecting prescriptions, cooking meals, laundry, shopping, general housework, providing a sympathetic ear and even walking the dog.
On many occasions she also made and delivered Christmas dinner for people in her care and carried an axe in the back of her car in case she had to chop wood for a fire.
Mrs Harris, who lives in Bromyard, said: "But I've no complaints - it's been a wonderful job.
"I've met so many really nice people over the years and rather than them just being clients, they've become really good friends - which is what you'd expect when you visit them once, sometimes twice a day for many years."
To celebrate her retirement and her long service, Mrs Harris was given porcelain figurines and a bouquet of flowers from her colleagues.
