TWELVE Royal British Legion standard bearers will pay tribute to one of their own at a Herefordshire funeral today.
Standard bearer Ron Maysey, 66, from Weobley, will be honoured with one of the largest Legion-attended funerals in the county ever, at a service in his village at 2pm.
The former corporal in the King's Shropshire Light Infantry was chairman of the Legion's Weobley branch and a standard bearer for more than 10 years, last month winning the prestigious gold badge for his services.
Expected at the funeral are Major Philip Verdin, representing the Queen, and Legion member Major James Hereford.
