THE finals of the Winter Doubles were played last weekend at Dymock Grange Golf Club.
On Saturday the doubles final was played in superb conditions between the new captain David Linnie, his 12-year-old son Sean (both from Malvern) and two members from Tewkesbury, Steve Rundle and John Lannen.
A very close contest took place with the Linnies giving away two shots and eventually coming away with a 4 and 2 victory.
Steve Rundle had a much better result on the Sunday as he beat another member from Tewkesbury, Matt Harris in the final of the Singles.
On Saturday evening an EGM took place at Dymock Grange, mainly to put the members fears at ease, as many rumours had arisen that the present owner would be selling. These rumours were soon put to rest as the new manager was introduced. Course improvements are already underway and many improvements for the members are going to happen very soon.
Mr Linnie looks forward to his second year as captain (first time in 1999) also working with the new committee and management.
