THIS penultimate match of the winter season for Magpies was always going to be a difficult as Malvern Comets were one of the few teams which had already beaten them this season.
The pressure was on Magpies to win this game and their captain Jackie Dixon, back playing after a two week break, won the toss to start the match.
The ball was passed quickly to shooters GA Kim Robinson and GS Sue Pidgley and after five attempts between them Kim Robinson finally scored. This inspired Magpies and they stormed on to end the first quarter 11-4 up.
Magpies started the second quarter well and quickly scored the first five goals. By the end of the third quarter Magpies were leading 25-12 and they never looked back as they went on to win the game quite comfortably.
Player of the match was Sue Pidgley.
