Saturday's walks to Newent's daffodil fields are being hailed as a great success by the organisers, the local branch of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
Elaine Shears, a member of the Newent branch of the trust, said around 40 people took advantage of guided walks to the Betty Daw's Woods, led by fellow member John Anderson.
At least a further 60 people enjoyed tea and refreshments in Oxenhall Parish Hall, laid on especially for the wild daffodil celebration.
The trust is particularly keen to draw attention to the plight of wild daffodils, which could face extinction due to cross-pollination with the bigger, cultivated varieties.
These worries have now been taken up by the national press, with an article appearing The Times on Tuesday referring to Gloucestershire's daffodil population.
