HEREFORD United will aim to take the fizz out of the Bucks when they travel to Telford United on Boxing Day (1pm).

Victory for the Shropshire side will put them within two points of Graham Turner's outfit, but they will need to be on their game to deny the in-form Bulls.

Three wins on the bounce have transformed the Edgar Street club's fortunes and whatever happens they will be in a better position than after last year's corresponding fixture.

A Scott Goodwin strike handed the Bulls a priceless three points to haul them away from the relegation zone but this year promotion is very much on Turner's mind ahead of the festive fixture.

"We've had a change in fortune of late and are up there challenging at Christmas which is where we wanted to be at the start of the season," he said.

Meanwhile Andy Tretton believes Steve Guinan, whose late goal sank Chester on Friday, is reaping the rewards for his recent goal glut which has seen him score five times in his last three games.

"He has played well all season but just hasn't been scoring goals but now he is reaping the rewards and is full of confidence," he said.

That view was echoed by Turner.

"Steve Guinan is not a prolific goalscorer -- he works very hard for the side -- but suddenly goals are going in for him," he said.

"He scored a hat-trick a couple of weeks ago and he got another one last week, and now he's scored another very important goal, and nobody deserves it more than him because of the amount of work that he's done.

"A really pleasing aspect is that we've now kept three clean-sheets. Both sides worked hard to defend and reduced the opposition to very few chances, and we had the bit of luck to get the winner.

"This was a great victory for us and it was a fair old scalp to take, but now we've got to make sure we pick up points from our next three matches."

"My players are showing a lot of enthusiasm and we're now starting to pick up points."

FORMCAST: 1-0 to the Bulls.
