Hereford United have an injury doubt over Matt Clarke for tomorrow's Nationwide Conference trip to Dagenham & Redbridge (3pm).

The former Kidderminster Harriers defender is battling to overcome a swollen knee which he sustained during the Bulls 1-0 home FA Cup first round defeat against Wigan Athletic last Saturday.

Striker John Grant, however, has now returned to full training following an injury lay-off and could be in contention for a place in tomorrow's squad.

Hereford boss Graham Turner is also hoping goalkeeper Matt Baker and left-back Michael Rose will be injury free when they return today after playing in the England National Game XI's midweek match with their Italian counterparts in Cremona.

Striker Chukki Eribenne has returned to Bournemouth after a month long lone stint at Edgar Street during which time he scored two goals in six league and cup outings.

Turner, meanwhile, is hoping his players can get back on track in the Conference following last Saturday's encouraging display against Nationwide League Second Division table-toppers Wigan.

He said: "We have got to start putting our league results right, but at the moment we are finding wins hard to come by. The players did very well against Wigan and should have won the game. But now it's back to the bread and butter of the Conference and it's about repeating the same level of performance that we showed against Wigan."

The Bulls have slipped to ninth in the table following a run of five league games without a win.

The last time they secured a Conference win was when they triumphed 2-1 at Leigh RMI on October 8. Three days earlier they had won 2-1 at home against Dagenham & Redbridge who are currently in mid-table.

Turner said: "Our aim must be to finish in the top five of the division and I have to say that I have not yet seen five teams in the Conference better than us."

The Edgar Street chief, meanwhile, has extended striker Scott Voice's loan spell at Dr Martens League Premier Division outfit Hinckley United for a second month.

FORMCAST: Hereford to secure a 1-1 draw.
