EDGAR Street boss Graham Turner is hoping to thrash out a deal to keep Mick Galloway at the club for at least another month.

The midfielder has been a huge hit since his arrival at Hereford United and Turner admits he would love to make his signing permanent.

Galloway has impressed with his workrate and commitment and according to Turner should be operating at a higher level.

The 28-year-old, who played the last game of his loan spell against Doncaster Rovers today, has already expressed a desire to make his switch to Hereford permanent.

"Carlisle's financial difficulties means he is available and he's done a really good job," said Turner.

He's a quality player and should still be playing in the league but he's not and I hope we can tie up for at least another month if not a longer period."

Meanwhile, Sky television's decision to broadcast Hereford's first round FA Cup tie with Second Division highflyers Wigan has reawakened thoughts of giantkilling feats at the Conference club.

"They are a powerful side but it's the FA Cup and we've got to fancy our chances," said Turner who travelled to watch Wigan's 1-1 home draw with Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.

Captain Ian Wright added: "We all know how important a good cup run is to the club. We are all dying to have a crack at Wigan."

More importantly for the club is the £100,000 they receive and which is almost too good to be true according to director Joan Fennessy.

or a club in our position, without anyone to pump money in, it is a lifeline," she said.

The club can add a further £20,000 to their coffers if they manage to defeat the Latics.
