GRAHAM Turner is still trying to clinch the loan signing of a new striker ahead of Hereford United's clash with Leigh RMI tonight (7.45).

The Edgar Street boss believed the deal had been cut and dried, but it has hit snags and the move may not be completed until later in the week.

Hereford go into this evening's match buoyed by only their second home victory of the season and the incentive of climbing to third in the table.

Turner was pleased with both the 2-1 scoreline and the attitude of his players including new loan signing Mick Galloway.

"Saturday's result and performance has done us a power of good," said Turner.

"The manner in which we played enabled us to create a lot of good possession and moves, some of which finished with clear-cut chances though others perhaps we were disappointed with our final ball."

The Bulls have the best away form in the Nationwide Conference with five wins under their belts and with struggling Leigh just one off the bottom, Turner's team will be hot favourites to extend that record.

Captain Ian Wright remains doubtful with a hamstring strain so Richard Teesdale stands by to continue in his place.

Long-term injury victim Ben Smith returns to Lilleshall this week for further fitness and strength building on his shoulder, but Turner is hoping he will back in full training next week.
