GRAHAM Turner has been so busy seeing players at Edgar Street he could do with installing a revolving door in his office.

The Hereford United Director of Football is looking to add a further six players to his squad ahead of the new Nationwide Conference season, but has seen several players reject a move to the club due to the distance and travelling involved.

Former Republic of Ireland striker David Kelly and ex-Wrexham midfielder Wayne Phillips are two of the players to turn down contracts with the Bulls.

"We've had a few rejections but that always happens whether it is for finances or distance and it is just part and parcel of the game," said Turner.

"I'm looking to add another six to the squad but I'm in no hurry and am not worried that we have not got the numbers up yet."

Turner ran his eye over a number of trialists in last night's friendly with Tranmere Rovers including Ryan Giggs younger brother Rod.

Top of Turner's priorities appears to be a goalkeeper with several linked to the club including Wrexham's David Walsh.

Current number one Matt Baker was on trial at Third Division Leyton Orient earlier in the week where he also trained with the London club.

Meanwhile, former Bulls attacker Danny Davidson has linked up with former boss Phil Robinson at Stafford Rangers.

John Shirley is set for trials with Canvey Island and possibly Worcester City.

Hereford have pencilled in another friendly match at Bromyard Town on Thursday, August 8.

The match is to officially open a stand in memory of former Vice Presidents' Club chairman Cyril Bouston.

They will also play a Hereford United Independent Supporters Association XI at Edgar Street in a fund-raising match on Monday, August 12.
