Ledbury, still without five first team players, dropped two vital Premier Division points on Saturday but had enough chances to have won the game comfortably.

LEDBURY TOWN 1, WOLVERHAMPTON UNITED 1

Ledbury opened the scoring when the game was only 90 seconds old. The Wolves centre half made a mistake from a Stu Hall cross and Robbie Colwell duly obliged. Duncan Preedy, who was finding acres of space on the right, found his crosses generally wasted but Ledbury should have increased their lead when Stu Hall hit the post from six yards out.

Ledbury were soon to rue that missed chance when a rare Wolves break saw Welch lose the ball to Jackson who squared it back for Simon Maund to fire home from six yards.

Ledbury totally dominated the early stages of the second half and Colwell latched on to a long ball only to fire wide. In the next ten minutes Duncan Preedy three times left the home defence for dead, Colwell twice and Welch once, but all failed to find the net.

Caught on the break, only two timely tackles from Steve Warren and two point blank saves from Rory Hollingshead stopped the Wolves stealing all three points.

The game was sponsored by Ledbury Removals.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury are at second place Tipton Town (2.45pm), on Boxing Day away to Malvern Town (11am). On December 28 Ledbury Town then visit Bustlehome (2.45pm).
