Ledbury Town returned to winning ways on Saturday with a comfortable away victory against West Midlands Premier Division basement side Walsall Wood.
WALSALL WOOD 0, LEDBURY TOWN 2
In a game played in appalling conditions Ledbury took the points with two Phil Preedy goals, both scored in the first half.
Preedy opened the scoring after five minutes when he rounded two defenders and fired home into the top corner of the net.
In the 30th minute Duncan Preedy crossed for Phil Preedy to head home but the referee disallowed the effort and awarded Ledbury a penalty.
Phil Preedy coolly slotted home the spot kick to take charge of the game.
Ledbury could not increase the scoreline in the second half although Welch, Perrins and Phil Preedy all had what looked like good goals disallowed.
Town were also set back when skipper Stuart Hall picked up his second yellow card for not retreating ten yards from a free kick and was sent off.
Tomorrow (Saturday) fifth-in-the-table Ledbury Town are away again when they visit Heath Hayes (2.45) and then they are at home on Wednesday against Tividale (7.45) in another league fixture.
