Ledbury made it nine wins on the trot without getting into top gear for this HFA Challenge Cup first round tie.

LEDBURY TOWN 3, LEOMINSTER TOWN 0

Still without the influential Mark Brooks, Ledbury welcomed back Ian Foreshaw for his first game of the season after a lengthy illness.

Ledbury went in front as early as the tenth minute when Rob Perrins sent Duncan Preedy away, he sped past the full back before unleashing a cross shot past the helpless keeper.

Ledbury then seemed in no hurry to increase their lead missing several good chances. Such was Ledbury's dominance that stand-in keeper Brown did not have one shot to save.

The second half saw Ledbury get closer to the target as Ian Foreshaw, Rob Perrins and Robbie Colwell all hit the woodwork. It was only a matter of time before Ledbury increased their lead and when Stu Hall's cross saw the ball bounce nicely for Duncan Preedy he vollied home from six yards.

Ledbury had two good penalty appeals turned down and the goalkeeper made brilliant saves from Phil Preedy and Stu Hall. It wasn't until the 89th minute that Rob Colwell raced on to Stu Hall's through ball to make it 3-0.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury travel to Barwell in Leicestershire for the First Round Proper of the Carlsberg FA Vase.

The Town side will be expecting a very tough encounter against the higher graded side from the Midland Alliance but manager Paul Wilband remains very optimistic.

Wilband said: "Going there as underdogs will suit us, and I believe with the squad of players we have now assembled we could come back with a major surprise and keep the Herefordshire flag flying."

Ledbury will chose from: P Brown, C Powell, L Clueit, I Foreshaw, M Herbert, M Brooks, S Hall, D Preedy, P Preedy, R Colwell, N Welch, R Hollingshead, R Perrins, D Morris, S Warren, I Stewart.

The coach to Barwell will leave Ledbury at 11am.
