A WELL-TAKEN goal by Robbie Colwell gave Ledbury Town their first ever win at Kington on Tuesday night.

KINGTON 0, LEDBURY TOWN 1

Colwell may have been a little lucky to still be on the pitch having been booked for a challenge off the ball inside two minutes.

That set the tone for a typical local derby with plenty of yellow cards and disputed decisions affecting both sides.

Kington had only two shots on target but were unlucky not to have taken the lead when they caught Town on the break only to be denied by a fantastic save by Rory Hollingshead.

Town took the lead before half time when Mark Brooks won the ball in midfield and Ian Stewart split the back four with a crossfield pass. Colwell ran onto it and scored with a firm shot into the bottom right corner of the net.

Colwell had two good chances one on one with the goalkeeper in the second half but Kington nearly grabbed a point when captain Andy Clarke ran through 30 seconds from the end but shot wide.

Midfield man Nicky Welch was Ledbury's man of the match.
