Bromyard bounced back from Saturday's defeat to totally overwhelm lowly Gornal Athletic in this West Midland League Premier Division match.

BROMYARD TOWN 3, GORNAL ATHLETIC 1

The home side started strongly and a continual barrage of shots tested the Gornal keeper, Shaun Healy, whose agility kept the scores level for the first half hour.

Then against the run of play, Gornal broke down the centre and Dave Jones struck a long looping ball that went over the head of Bromyard keeper Paul Workman and into the net.

Bromyard upped the pace and within two minutes Dean Wise ran down the left wing, inside two Gornal defenders and shot at goal. The Gornal keeper was unable to hang on to his fierce drive and spilled the ball out to Scott Morris who slammed home the equaliser.

After the break Bromyard continued to dominate and after a long period of pressure, a corner put across by Darryl Gormley was met by Andrew Cooke on the near post to head home for Bromyard's second goal.

With ten minutes to go Paul Gannon broke down the left hand side and crossed the ball into the box to be met by the hard working Lee Seldon, making a welcome come back to the squad, who swivelled to get his well deserved goal.

Gornal tried to increase the pressure in the dying minutes but rarely troubled the Bromyard defence superbly marshalled by Dave Damore and Williams. Watkins also making a welcome return to first team football after a long lay off due to injury.

Bromyard ended up worthy winners and all three points and now look forward to entertaining Heath Hayes at Delahay Meadow tomorrow (Saturday).
