BROMYARD's wheelchair tennis star Janet McMorran is bidding to retain her women's title at this weekend's Nottingham Indoor Wheel-chair Tennis Tournament.
Herefordshire star McMorran is the top female player in Britain and she begins her campaign with a first round tie in the main draw against Diana Bowles.
McMorran, also ninth in the women's world rankings, will face stiff competition at the Nottingham event from last year's losing finalist, Betty Klave of the Netherlands and Buckinghamshire's Kimberly Blake. She intends to use the tournament as a warm-up for next week's prestigious NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters event in the Netherlands.
