WITHIN days of Prince's Trust Volunteers completing work on a wildlife pond at Hereford's Unity Garden three ducks have taken up residence.

The volunteers, who paid for the pond through a series of fund-raising events, moved 10 tons of soil during its creation and are delighted that their project is attracting interest from animals as well as humans.

Tracey Wistance, Prince's Trust Volunteer co-ordinator, said: "Unity Garden is a fabulous idea that will hopefully be supported by the whole community, the team has treasured memories of their experience here."

The Unity Garden, in Ledbury Road, has already proved popular with the local wildlife.

Earlier in the year investigations into paw prints on the top of a polytunnel in the garden led to a family of foxes being discovered.

The vixen and her youngsters were seen using the tunnel as a lookout and slide!
