The manager of the Wales under-12s chess squad is to set up a new club at Ledbury Primary School.
The first session takes place on Tuesday, April 29, from 4pm to 6pm, and will be led by county grand master Kevin Thomas, who was manager of the Welsh team at the World Youth Championships in Crete in November.
He said: "I've been teaching chess at schools in the Monmouth area for several years and it seems as though the demand is just as great in Ledbury. I gave a demonstration lesson last term and I was delighted by the response."
Registration forms for the chess classes are available from Ledbury Primary School.
